Hello, I'm Koo
I’m a Qualified Hypnotherapist (Dip.Hyp CS) and a Registered Member of the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS), a professional body accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I’m also fully insured and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills & Theory, which supports my gentle, person-centred approach.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and have completed professional training in Hypnotherapy, specialising in menopause support and helping women through the emotional challenges that can come with the empty nest transition.
I’m deeply committed to offering the best possible care for my clients. I work under regular professional supervision and continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing professional development - so I can support each person with compassion, understanding, and the highest professional standards.
My Story
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother. It was my greatest dream, and I poured my heart and soul into that role.
Being a mum became such a huge part of who I was that, when my twins grew up and left home, I suddenly found myself wondering who I was without them needing me in quite the same way.
I was incredibly proud of them, of course. But inside, I felt lost. The quiet of the house brought a sadness and emptiness I hadn’t fully anticipated. I had spent so many years being ‘Mum’ that I had forgotten what it meant to simply be me.
And then, as life often does, another chapter began to unfold.
I found myself navigating menopause too. The changes weren’t just physical. There were days when I felt more emotional, overwhelmed, unsettled or unlike myself. Sleep became more difficult, hot flushes, my confidence wavered, and sometimes I simply didn’t feel quite like the woman I remembered.
I realised I was experiencing two significant life transitions at the same time. My children were growing into their own lives, while my own body and mind were changing too.
And honestly, there were moments when I wondered where I fitted into it all.
Then I discovered hypnotherapy.
The approach was gentle, compassionate and empowering. It helped me understand my thoughts and responses differently and, most importantly, helped me reconnect with myself.
It supported me through the emotions of the empty nest, helping me move beyond the sadness and uncertainty and begin to see the possibilities in this new chapter.
It also gave me tools and techniques that helped me navigate the changes of menopausal symptoms, including managing stress, calming my mind and feeling more in control of how I responded to some of the challenges I was experiencing.
Little by little, I began to feel more like myself again.
I rediscovered the vibrant, creative and hopeful woman I had always been. I started to realise that I hadn’t lost myself at all. She had simply been there underneath all the roles, responsibilities and changes that life had brought.
I realised something wonderful: I would never stop being a mother, but I was also a whole person beyond my role as a parent. I had dreams, passions, interests and a future that belonged to me.
I was ready to bloom again.
That experience changed my life so deeply that I decided to train as a hypnotherapist myself.
Today, I help other women navigate their own periods of change, whether they are adjusting to life after their children leave home, experiencing the physical and emotional changes of menopause symptoms, or simply feeling that they have lost touch with themselves somewhere along the way.
Because I know how it feels to wonder, ‘Where did I go?’
And I also know that finding your way back to yourself is possible.
Whether you’re preparing for the empty nest, already living through it, navigating the symptoms of menopause, or simply feeling ready for something to change, I want you to know this:
You are not lost. And you are not starting over.
There is still so much of you to discover.
You can reconnect with yourself, rediscover your confidence, find new interests, meet new people, change direction and create a future that feels exciting and genuinely yours.
You’ve spent years giving so much of yourself to the people you love.
Now it’s time to give something back to you.
This is your time to flourish, to reconnect, and to create a life that feels beautifully yours.
